OUTSTANDING SECONDARY SCHOOL ENGLISH AND LITERACY 2017

Ofsted, recent curriculum changes, and GCSE specifications demand a renewed school focus on the teaching of specialist academic language and explicit literacy skills. Indeed, teachers' own literacy levels are now subject to scrutiny under the revised Teachers' Standards.

Now, subject teachers need to radically rethink the way they promote specific features of literacy in their classrooms and leaders are responsible for embedding literacy techniques that meet specific requirements across all subjects.

This conference, in its 6th year, is dedicated to showcasing the tools that make literacy teaching explicit with the necessary means to audit, monitor, and disseminate those outstanding practices.
